Central, Wayamba PCs dissolved

The Governors of the Central and Wayamba provinces have been informed to dissolve their respective provinces from midnight tonight. The Governor of the Central Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa said the Gazette notification will be issued at midnight tonight while the Governor of the Wayamba province (North Western) Thisa R. Balala said that he has also been informed to dissolve the Wayamba province at midnight tonight.

President declares North poll

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has declared elections for the Northern Provincial Council elections. The President, in making the proclamation, informed the Elections Commissioner to make the arrangements for the elections.
