Ranil and Wimal discuss 13 A

UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and National Freedom Front (NFF) leader and government Minister Wimal Weerawanse have had talks on the 13th?Amendment?to the constitution.

The discussion had taken place in parliament today on the sidelines of the budget debate, sources told the Colombo Gazette.

At the meeting Weerawanse had said that the 13th?Amendment must be abolished and that his party will work towards that goal.

The UNP leader has responded by saying that he had no objections to abolishing the?13th?Amendment?to the constitution provided that there is an alternative solution.

He said that he will discuss the issue at the UNP convention next month and reach a final decision.

Gota next to face special court hearing cases on major fraud

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa is next in line to face the special court hearing cases on major fraud and corruption. The Attorney General?s Department today filed a case with the new High Court at Bar against Rajapaksa and six others over allegations of misappropriating state funds for the D.A. Rajapaksa Museum. USS Anchorage and embarked 13th MEU Arrive in Sri Lanka
