Fishermen, boat found after 2 months

A group of fishermen who set out to sea from Negombo in August were found beached in Mullaitivu yesterday, the police media unit said today.
The police said that five fishermen had gone fishing on August 30 from Negombo but their boat subsequently experienced engine trouble.
The fishing boat had been out at sea with the fishermen unable to contact anyone to seek help.
However after two months at sea the boat had washed ashore in Nayaru, Mullaitivu yesterday.
The army and area residents assisted the fishermen out of the boat and took them to hospital.
According to the police the fishermen were in good health.
