UNP to offer legal advice in all police divisions

The UNP has decided to make available two lawyers each to offer legal advice to any person who wants it at all police divisions around the country.

Speaking at an event in Colombo today UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said that every citizen had a right to seek fair justice for his or her?grievances.

He said it was with this in mind that the UNP will nominate lawyers to represent anyone before the police or in court.

The UNP lawyers will accompany the?complainant to the respective police station and to court.

Modi confirms visit to Sri Lanka in May for Vesak

France extends support following Meethotamulla tragedy

The embassy of France in Sri Lanka and Maldives expressed its shock at the collapse of the garbage dump on the 14th of April in Meethotamulla which claimed the lives of more than 30 people.
