Tony Greig diagnosed with Lung Cancer

Former England captain and commentator Tony Greig has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Greig, 66, was initially diagnosed with bronchitis in May and tests conducted during the recent T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka revealed that he had a small lesion at the base of his right lung. On his return to Australia he had a lot of fluid removed from his right lung and tests revealed that he had lung cancer.

Greig , who played 58 test matches and 22 ODIs for England and is a highly regarded cricket commentator today, will undergo biopsy later this week to ascertain the stage of his cancer and to determine the required course of action. (Zee News)

IPL chief seeks report on Zinta incident

Indian Premier League chairman Rajiv Shukla on Thursday said that he has sought a report from the match referee over the incident involving Kings XI Punjab owner Preity Zinta during her side’s IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali. Sri Lanka Premier League set for August this year

Sri Lanka Cricket has signed a new deal with Somerset Entertainment Ventures to hold the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) in 2012, ESPNcricinfo has learned. The deal was signed on May 5 and the tournament has been tentatively scheduled to be held between August 10 and August 31, just ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 that will be held in Sri Lanka in September.
