Couple found dead in Mahawa

The bodies of a couple were found in a house in Mahawa last night, the police media unit said today.

An investigation was launched following information?received?by the police that the stench of dead bodies were?emanating?from a house in Udugama, Mahawa.

When the police visited the house last night they found the doors and windows shut.

The police forced their way into the house and found the bodies of an 18 year old woman and a 21 year old man.

Investigations revealed that the married couple had taken the house on rent and were residents of Morogollla, Mahawa.

A?Magisterial?inquiry is to be conducted today.

Two brothers dead after consuming liquor following mother’s funeral

Two brothers have died after consuming illicit liquor in Mirigama, the Police said today. The Police said that they had consumed the liquor following the funeral of their mother. According to the Police, four people had consumed the illicit liquor after attending the funeral. The Police said that two people had later died and one person was admitted to hospital.
