The police arrested three British girls early this morning for entering the rooms of the West Indies cricket team at a leading hotel in Colombo.
According to the police media unit, the three girls were arrested by officers of the Ministerial Security Division who are providing security for the team.
Meanwhile sources at the Colpetty police told the Colombo Gazette that the girls had been having drinks with some of the West Indies team members.
The girls, said to be university students, had then been invited to the rooms by the cricketers themselves for more drinks.
However since entry to the rooms of the cricketers is banned for outsiders by the International Cricket Council (ICC) the girls were arrested at handed over to the Colpetty police.
Further investigations are underway.
