A British national was arrested today with over 100 stolen tickets for the Twenty 20 World Cup match involving England, the police said.
Police spokesman SSP Ajith Roahan said that the 54 year old man from Manchester had stolen the tickets from the ICC ticket office at Stanley Tilakaratna Mawath in Colombo.
The police spokesman told the Colombo Gazette that the British man had stolen 103 tickets for tomorrow’s match between England and Sri Lanka.
“He had 4 ticket books and separately another 3 tickets with him which he had stolen from the ICC Twenty 20 World Cup ticket counter,” the police spokesman said.
The foreigner had arrived in Sri Lanka to watch the world cup matches and had initially visited the ticket counter to purchase tickets. (Colombo Gazette)
