Government looks at forming an alternative GMOA

Moves are underway to form an alternative Government doctors’ association to counter the pressure faced by the government from the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA). The GMOA has in the recent past launched strikes which has affected activities at all Government hospitals. Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has told President Maithripala Sirisena that Government doctors from the North and East and other parts of the country have backed forming an alternative GMOA, sources said

Probe launched on private hospitals violating blood test price

An investigation has been launched on?private hospitals violating the fixed price imposed on blood tests, the Ministry of Health said today.
