Television kills child

A child was killed when a television set fell on her in Medagama yesterday, the police media unit said today.

The police said that the eight year old girl was placed next to the television set in her house by her parents.

Investigations revealed that the television set had fallen on the child when she had been kicking the table on which the television was placed.

The child was admitted to the Bibile hospital for treatment but she succumbed to her injuries.

Further investigations are underway, the police media unit added.
