Tiran resigns from Fonseka’s party ?

General Secretary of the Democratic Party Tiran Alles has resigned from his post in the party, reports said.

When the Colombo Gazette contacted DNA General Secretary Vijitha Herath he said that Alles has not resigned from the DNA alliance.

However he could not comment on reports that Alles had resigned from the Democratic Party.

The resignation followed an interview Democratic Party?leader Sarath Fonseka had given to a local Sinhala newspaper.

In the newspaper interview Fonseka was?quoted?as saying that Alles cannot have his way.

Alles had negotiated the release of ?Sarath Fonseka from prison following several rounds of discussions between Alles and the President.

A member of parliament, Tiran Alles always maintained that there was no hidden deal with the President when Fonseka was freed.

Apart from being an MP Alles is also a businessman and runs the Ceylon Today and Mawbima newspaper group.

Two individuals had been abducted and nailed on a cross in Ampitiya over a post published on Facebook, the Police said.
