The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) raided a cement racket at the storage facility operated by the government owned Sri Lanka Cement Corporation.
Officials of the CAA seized expired cement kept at the stores which was being sold to the market, CAA officials said.
The CAA officials had visited the storage facility of Sri Lanka Cement Corporation at Panchikawatte today to check for expired cement.
When the officials visited the site they found expired cement being loaded onto a lorry to be sold in the market.
The cement had expired on the 12th of this month, CAA officials told the Colombo Gazette.
The CAA officials later informed the police and the manager of the stores was arrested while the cement and lorry was also seized.
