TNA to go before the UNHRC

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has threatened to go before the UN Human Rights Council (TNA) over allegations the military is forcefully taking over land in the north and east from civilians.

TNA Jaffna District MP Apathurai Vinayagamurthi told reporters in Jaffna that the military has already taken over civilian land in the north and east.

He said that the issue will not only be taken before the UN Human Rights Council but also to the international community.

The TNA says it will also launch a democratic campaign to fight against the forced military occupation.
