Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Daredevils to reach final

Kolkata Knight Riders stormed into the Indian Premier League Season-5 final with an 18-run win over Delhi Daredevils in Pune.

Electing to bat first in the Sahara Stadium in Pune, Kolkata were off to a flying start as skipper Gautam Gambhir went all guns blazing.

However, Gambhir’s heroics came to an end when he was involved in a mix-up with opener Brendon McCullum as KKR had posted 48 runs on board in just 5.5 overs.

Onus was completely on star batsman McCullum but the Kiwi failed to up the tempo after getting off to a good start.

Shakib al Hasan, who came after McCullum’s fall also failed to live upto the expectations as he fell after adding just one run to the KKR total.

With score being 106/4  after 16 overs, Kolkata needed a special knock from its batsmen to put some kind of pressure on Delhi Daredevils’ strong batting line-up.

Yusuf Pathan and Laxmi Ratan Shukla provided KKR the impetus it looked for as they added 56 runs in last 24 balls to take Kolkata to 162/4.
