CID to probe state land grab

A special unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is to investigate the misuse and illegal acquisition of government owned land, the Defence Ministry said.

The Defence Ministry said that the CID has established the special investigations unit to investigate into government properties which are being misused, misappropriated, illegally occupied and acquired by individuals or organizations.

The CID has also sought public assistance to gather information on anyone misusing state property, the Defence Ministry added.
