Spanish navy rescues Lankan crew

The Spanish navy has rescued six Sri Lankan fishermen and their fishing vessel from Somali pirates, the European Press quoted the Spanish Defence Ministry as saying today. The Spanish Navy patrol craft ‘Infanta Elena’ had rescued the Sri Lankan fishermen who were in the custody of the Somali pirates for six months. Chicken lays full chick

A chicken laid a full chick in Welimada instead of the egg, officials in the area said. The egg was believed to have been stuck inside the chicken and after 21 days the egg has hatched inside the chicken, our reporter in the area quoted a veterinary doctor as saying. The chick was in good health but the chicken has died, the doctor said. A post mortem was conducted on the chicken and it was found that the chicken died from cut wounds inside the body.
