Soldier kills colleague and himself

A soldier shot dead another soldier and then killed himself in Jaffna early this morning, the Jaffna police said.
The incident took place near the Naga Vihara Temple in Jaffna following what was believed to be a personal dispute.
The latest incident comes just weeks after a similar shooting incident was reported in Jaffna.
In March this year three soldiers were killed in Jaffna following a gunfight owing to a personal dispute.
The military had said that the three soldiers were on duty at the Murugan Kovil in Chavakachcheri when the shooting took place.
Initial inquiries have revealed that the shooting was due to a personal dispute among the three soldiers and that there was no third party involvement, the Army had said in a statement.
