Two foreigners arrested

Two foreigners were arrested for assaulting waiters at a restaurant in Habaraduwa early this morning, the police media unit said.

According to the police an Indian national and Ukrainian, who had been under the influence of liquor were engaged in a heated argument at the restaurant.

The police said that a group of waiters had then attempted to intervene and settle the matter but the two foreigners had assaulted them.

Property at the restaurant including glasses, tables and chairs and a laptop were damaged in the incident.

Three people were injured and admitted to the Karapitiya hospital following the incident.

The Habaraduwa police are conducting investigations.
