Several fall sick in Lindula

Several people have been falling sick in Thalawakale and Lindula over the past few weeks after drinking water in the area, the police media unit said today.

The police said that a 46 year old man had also died yesterday after drinking what is believed to be water contaminated with some sort of virus.

According to the police the contaminated water is being distributed to residents in the area and this has been communicated to the people by the relevant authorities.

The post mortem on the victim is being carried out at the Nuwera Eliya hospital.

The police also said that samples of the contaminated water have been taken for tests.

Nominations to be called for to fill vacancies in RTI Commission

The Parliamentary Council has decided to call for nominations to fill the vacant posts in the Right to Information Commission of Sri Lanka.
