Not accident but murder

Police investigations have found that two people found dead in a three-wheeler in Pussalawa last year after the vehicle had fallen into a lagoon was not an accident but murder.

The police media unit said today that a suspect was arrested yesterday over the incident after it was believed he had murdered the two men and pushed the three-wheeler into the lagoon with the two bodies.

The incident had initially been recorded as an accident and was being investigated also as an accident, the police media unit said.

However it had later been found that the two victims were beaten to death using an iron rod.

Further investigations are now underway.
