Court orders sausages destroyed

The Anuradhapura Magistrate today issued orders to destroy over Rs. 900,000 worth of sausages seized by health inspectors in the area.
Health inspectors had told the Magistrate that the sausages had been kept at a storage facility by a government official in the area despite it being sized on the grounds that they were unfit for human consumption.
When inquired from the government official he said that the sausages were kept under storage to ensure that it is not sold in the market.
However the Magistrate later ordered that all the sausages seized by the health inspectors be destroyed with immediate effect.
