Cabinet approves proposal to purchase more power, committee appointed

Cabinet has approved a proposal to purchase more power while a committee has also been appointed to submit recommendations to address the power crisis. No fuel price hike this week

The Government has decided not to increase fuel prices this week, the Ministry of Finance said. Fuel prices were expected to be increased today under the monthly fuel price formula. However since the Sinhala and Tamil New Year will be celebrated over the coming weekend the Finance Ministry said that fuel prices will not be revised. (Colombo Gazette)
