Censor slaps Pusswedilla

Local authorities have censored a popular stage character ‘Pusswedilla’ saying he should not make references to Sri Lankan and local politicians.

The character of Chaminda Pusswedilla, who wears a white shirt and sarong like a politician, became hugely popular in Sri Lanka after he took pun shots at local politicians.

However the new Censor Board decided to issue strict instructions to the directors of ‘Pusswedilla 3’ in order to approve its release.

The third installment of ‘Pusswedilla’ will now go on the boards in September without any reference to Sri Lanka or any Sri Lankan town or politician.

Chaminda Pusswedilla will now be referred to as the Lokka of ‘Arsik Land’ instead as the Lokka of Sri Lanka.

Earlier the profile of Pusswedilla said he is a popular Sri Lankan politician, friend of the people, son of the village, father of democracy and brother of freedom.

Chaminda Puswedilla also released a DVD titled ‘The life and times of Hon. Pusswedilla – Thank You for voting”.
