Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya opened the second day of the Sri Lanka AI Week exhibition at Monarch Imperial on 30 September, according to the organisers.

The exhibition formed part of a programme led by the Ministry of Digital Economy and SLT-Mobitel. Deputy Digital Economy Minister Eranga Weeraratne and ministry and industry representatives also attended the opening.

Local and international technology businesses presented artificial-intelligence products and applications at the exhibition.

The wider AI Week programme included conference sessions and demonstrations intended to encourage discussion about the adoption of the technology in Sri Lanka.

Visitors had an opportunity to see how participating companies were applying AI across different industries. The exhibition also brought technology providers, policymakers and potential users together to discuss the infrastructure and skills needed to develop and deploy such systems.

The organisers described the programme as a platform for collaboration and awareness, combining presentations with opportunities for engagement between businesses and public-sector representatives.

The second-day opening followed the start of the main conference and exhibition on 29 September.
