Sri Lanka Debuts First Country Pavilion at Source Fashion London 2026

Sri Lanka’s apparel industry achieved a milestone with its first-ever country pavilion at the Source Fashion Apparel Exhibition 2026, held from 13 to 15 January at Olympia London, one of Europe’s premier sourcing events.

The pavilion was officially inaugurated on 13 January by Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to the UK, Nimal Senadheera, and the UK Trade Envoy to Sri Lanka, Lord Hannett of Everton OBE, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by industry representatives, exhibitors, officials from EDB Sri Lanka, and the High Commission.

Organised jointly by EDB, the Sri Lankan apparel sector, and the High Commission, the pavilion aimed to strengthen trade ties, expand buyer networks, and position Sri Lanka as a preferred sourcing destination for the UK and European markets.

Twenty Sri Lankan apparel booths, including 12 SMEs, showcased locally manufactured garments, textiles, handmade products, and value-added solutions for industrial and consumer use. Sustainability, innovation, ethical production, and long-term partnerships were highlighted across the exhibition. Participating companies included Star Garments Group, Insomnia, JK Garments, New Universe Clothing SL, Protector Clothing, Hayleys Free Zone, and others.

Sri Lankan designs were also featured in Source Fashion catwalk shows, underlining the country’s design and manufacturing capabilities. The event coincided with the UK’s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) reforms, which provide zero import duty on eligible Sri Lankan exports, creating new trade opportunities and enhancing competitiveness.

Sri Lanka’s pavilion underscored its growing global reputation as a trusted, resilient, and innovative apparel sourcing hub, reflecting the government’s vision for export promotion and the sector’s readiness to meet evolving international supply chain demands.
