Turkish Airlines Flight Returns to Colombo Due to Technical Issue

Turkish Airlines flight TK 733 from Colombo to Istanbul safely returned to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 12:28 a.m. following a reported technical issue. Airport authorities confirmed that all passengers and crew are safe.

The Airbus A330, operating a scheduled service to Istanbul, experienced a landing gear malfunction shortly after takeoff on Tuesday night, prompting emergency procedures. The aircraft circled over the area to burn fuel before making a precautionary landing.

Airport officials stated that fire and medical emergency teams were on standby as a safety precaution. The flight crew maintained constant communication with air traffic control while following standard emergency protocols.

Authorities confirmed that the incident did not disrupt other flights at BIA. Further updates will be provided after safety checks on the aircraft are completed.
