No reports of Sri Lankans being affected by Thai quake

There are no reports of any Sri Lankans being affected by the quake in Thailand, the Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry said.

Following an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude in Myanmar that caused tremors in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Bangkok is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with Thai authorities.

No adverse incidents involving Sri Lankan citizens have been reported as of now, the Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry said.

Sri Lankan nationals in Thailand are advised to contact the emergency hotline at +66 812498011 in case of emergency.

Mother and daughter found dead with stab wounds

A woman and her daughter were found dead with stab wounds inside a house in?Hanwella, the Police said. The Police said that the woman, identified as Rupasinghe Arachchige Mary Rani, 68, and her daughter, Senarath Liyanage Lakmini Shriyakanthi, 38, were found dead inside their house in?Welikanna in Hanwella.
