President Dissanayake pays tribute at Mao Zedong mausoleum

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is currently on a state visit to China, paid his respects at the Mao Zedong memorial, dedicated to the founding leader of the People’s Republic of China.

The President visited the exhibition hall on the history of the Communist Party of China and later he?visited the historic Prince Kung’s Palace Museum in China.

The President paid his respects by offering flowers at the Mao Zedong memorial, dedicated to the founding leader of the People’s Republic of China.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, and Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake, also participated in these events. (Colombo Gazette)

Death toll from garbage dump landslide reaches 32

The death toll from a landslide of a garbage dump in Sri Lanka rose to 32 on Wednesday with eight others still missing, the Xinhua news agency reported. Minister visits Norochcholai to inspect damage to generator

Power and Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya visited the Norochcholai coal power plant to inspect the damage caused to one generator. One generator of the Norochcholai coal power plant broke down yesterday, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said.
