Indonesia police say they have picked up 43 starving, dehydrated people who were adrift in a boat for nine days after their engine broke down while fleeing Sri Lanka in hopes of reaching Australia. Dambulla Hindu devotees threatened

Hindu devotees who were to conduct a ceremony at a Hindu shrine in the Dambulla area have been threatened and told not to carryout the annual event. Search in India for Lankan boat

The Indian coastal security agencies launched immediate search operations on Thursday following an Intelligence report that a Sri Lankan fishing vessel was anchored in sea off the Kochi coast. The Intelligence wing from Kollam alerted the Kochi coastal police that some of the persons were being transported in a fishing boat to a Sri Lankan vessel anchored at a distance of one nautical mile off the coast.
