Cabinet informed US and Sri Lanka to renew defence deal

Cabinet was informed today that the United States and Sri Lanka have decided to renew a defence agreement. The Government information department said that Sri Lanka and the US will renew the Acquisition and cross-servicing agreement between the Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka and the Department of Defence of the USA. BOI chairman Upul Jayasuriya resigns amidst allegations

The Chairman of the Board Of Investment (BOI) Upul Jayasuriya has resigned from his post on personal grounds. His resignation comes as the BOI faces allegations over some of the agreements it had signed in the recent past. Jayasuriya was the former President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
