Police search Frontline Socialist Party office

The Police searched the Nugegoda office of the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) today.

The FSP said that the Police had raided the premises saying they were looking for a wanted person.

Duminda Nagamuwa, the Propaganda Secretary of the Frontline Socialist Party said the Police were believed to be looking for the Convenor of the Inter-University Student’s Federation Wasantha Mudalige.

However, since the wanted person was not in the building the Police had left.

The FSP said that the Police had raised the premises without a warrant. (Colombo Gazette)

Number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka nears 900

The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka is nearing 900. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka rose to 847 today. The Ministry of Health said that there were 12 new cases identified today (Saturday). Of the 847 detected so far, 578 are still active with the virus while 260 have recovered and have been discharged from hospital. Most of the latest cases reported are linked to the Sri Lanka Navy.
