Military security for fuel distribution

Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says military security has been given for fuel distribution.
The Minister told Parliament that concerns have been raised over the security of employees transporting fuel.
As a result the Sri Lanka Air Force has given security to railway employees transporting fuel.
The Minister said that the Police and military have also been requested to give security to fuel trucks.
Wijesekera appealed to the protesters and opposition not to disrupt the fuel distribution network.
He said that disrupting the fuel distribution network will affect operations at hospitals which require the fuel.
The Minister also insisted that there is no shortage of fuel and that there is sufficient supplies for the next 10 days. (Colombo Gazette)
