Young woman with down syndrome among latest Covid victims

A young woman with down syndrome is among the latest Covid victims in Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Health said that a 24-year-old woman had died on 27th May at her residence in?Raththota.

The cause of death has now been confirmed as Covid pneumonia and down
syndrome.

She is among 43 coronavirus victims confirmed by the Ministry of Health last night (Monday).

The Ministry of Health confirmed four people had died yesterday (31 May) as a result of the virus.

Additionally, 39 deaths reported between 20th May and 30th May have now been confirmed as being linked to the virus.

Of them, six deaths had occurred on 20th May, one death each on 21st May and 24th May, 02 deaths each on 25th May and 26th May, 06 deaths on 27th May, 09 deaths on 28th May and 06 deaths each on 29th May and 30th May.

The total number of deaths due to the coronavirus in Sri Lanka has now risen to 1484. (Colombo Gazette)
