Court issues overseas travel ban on Patali Champika Ranawaka

A court order has been issued preventing the overseas travel of former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka over an accident in 2016. The travel ban has also been imposed on his driver over the motor accident in 2016. The Police are investigating the accident in which one youth was seriously injured. CCTV footage of the accident was found to have been erased and Ranawaka was not named as a suspect. However, a fresh investigation led to the court issuing the travel ban.
