Former Mount Lavinia Officer-In-Charge interdicted

Former Crimes Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of the Mount Lavinia Police, Inspector of Police (IP) T. R. Hettiarachchi has been interdicted, the Police media unit said today.

The Police said that he was interdicted over allegations he had links with underworld criminals.

Army Brigadier Suresh Sallay has been appointed as the new Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS). He replaces Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena who has been assigned to the Police Headquarters. Suresh Sallay had served as Director of the Military Intelligence in the past.

Mrs. Sri Lanka crowned Mrs. World 2020

Mrs. Sri Lanka, Caroline Jurie, has been crowned Mrs.World 2020 at the final held in the US. Jurie becomes the second Sri Lankan to win the title after former Mrs. World Rosy Senanayake. Senanayake won the title in 1984. The Mrs. World 2020 Pageant was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jurie was selected as the winner ahead of 1st Runner Up Ireland and 2nd Runner Up US Virgin Islands.
