Twenty-three inmates in Senapura contract coronavirus

Twenty-three inmates at the Senapura rehabilitation centre have contracted the coronavirus, the Government said.

The Government Information Department said that a total of?2,867 people have contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka so far.

Meanwhile, the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said that a total of 27 people had contracted the virus today.

Of the 27 people, four are Sri Lankans who returned from the Middle East and 23 are inmates at the Senapura rehabilitation centre.

The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said that 1310 PCR Tests had been carried out in Sri Lanka yesterday.

So far, a total of 172,972 PCR Tests have been carried out in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)

Arrest of Indian fishermen to continue despite alleged shooting

The Government says Indian fishermen will continue to be arrested if they poach in Sri Lankan waters despite the recent shooting incident.
