Seven more coronavirus patients detected

Seven more patients were detected with COVID-19 in Sri Lanka today, raising the total number of infected patients to 197.

The Ministry of Health said the 7 persons include 6 from Suduwella in Ja-ela and 1 person from Dehiwela.

Among the infected patients, 136 patents have been identified as active cases, it said.

Meanwhile, 224 persons are under observation at hospitals across the country on suspicion of having contracted the virus.

The Ministry of Health said 54 patients, including 53 Sri Lankans and 1 Chinese woman, have recovered so far and have been discharged from hospital.

Seven deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Health added. (Colombo Gazette)
