Public urged to celebrate traditional New Year indoors

The public have been urged to celebrate the traditional Sinhala and Tamil New Year while staying indoors.

The Government said that with the spread of the coronavirus it is also advisable to pay close attention to the food consumed during the traditional New Year.

The public have been encouraged to follow the New Year traditions from within their homes and not organize any large gatherings outside.

At a time when the world has been seriously affected by the coronavirus, the Government urged the public to help prevent the spread of the virus in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
