Supreme Court says Gota cannot be arrested

The Supreme Court (SC) today said that former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa cannot be arrested in respect to four incidents. The four incidents were mentioned in a petition filed by the?former Defence Secretary in the Supreme Court. Last month the Supreme Court had issued an order against arresting Rajapaksa until a petition filed by him was heard. CID issues notice to MP Namal Rajapaksa

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has issued notice on member of parliament Namal Rajapaksa to be present this week to record a statement. Rajapaksa tweeted saying that he?received notice today to be present at the CID on June 12 to record a statement. However he says the notice does not say what he is going to be questioned over by the CID. Recently Namal’s mother, former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa was questioned by the police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID).
