Third batch from four quarantine centres sent home

The third batch of individuals, who were placed in four quarantine centres due to the coronavirus outbreak in Sri Lanka, left for home today.

Military Spokesman Colonel Chandana Wickremesinghe told Colombo Gazette that 223 individuals had left for home after completing their 14- day quarantine period.

A total of 185 individuals from the Eastern Province, 42 from the Kandakadu centre, 125 from Punani and 18 from Miyankulam, had left for their homes this morning, he said.

Colonel Wickremesinghe added that 38 individuals had left from the Diyathalawa quarantine centre.

A group of 311 persons from the Kandakadu and Punani quarantine centres were the first batch to leave for home on Monday (24).
