Suspects arrested over headless leopard found in Udawalawe

Four suspects have been arrested over the discovery of a headless leopard found in the Udawalawe National Park.

The arrest was made following a joint operation launched by wildlife officials and the Special Task Force.

The leopard was found dead last week with the head and legs cut-off.

Investigations revealed that the teeth of the leopard had also been removed. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. What a mindless crime. These animals are worth their weight in gold in terms of tourist dollars. This is the mentality of all Asian countries; everything for short term gain.
