SLC Chief Financial Officer arrested

The?Chief Financial Officer of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was arrested today over an attempt to commit financial fraud. Wimal Nandika Dissanayake was arrested by the?Crime Investigations Department (CID). SLC had earlier requested the Police to investigate?an alleged attempt to transfer USD 5.5 million to an off-shore account linked to the broadcasting rights of the ongoing England tour.

World’s longest sea crossing linking China and Hong Kong opens

Chinese President Xi Jinping has officially opened the world’s longest sea crossing bridge, nine years after construction first began. Including its access roads, the bridge spans 55km (34 miles) and connects Hong Kong to Macau and the mainland Chinese city of Zhuhai.
