Concerns have been raised with the National Elections Commission (EC) over voters being stranded at some places without transport to return home.
The Centre for Monitoring Election Violence (CMEV) said that over the years it raised the need to take all steps to ensure all voters are able to exercise their franchise.
CMEV said that it has been informed of a large number of voters being stranded without means of transport for return, due to EC directives for them to remain until 4:00PM for transport.
The CMEV says it is unfortunate that the authorities were unable to have services in place to ensure voters were not stranded for hours without being able to return to their present place of residence.
