Trial-at-bar to be appointed in 11 youth abduction case

A trial-at-bar is to be appointed to hear the case over the abduction and disappearance of 11 youth.

The Attorney General has requested the Chief Justice to appoint a trial-at-bar to hear the case.

The 11 youth had been abducted in Colombo and the suburbs between 2008 and 2009.

In September the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had recorded fresh statements from former Navy Commander Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda over the abduction and disappearance of the 11 youth.
