Over 300,000 affected, more rain expected

Over 300,000 people have been affected by the heavy rain which lashed most parts of the country during the past few days. The Disaster Management Center (DMC) said that as of this?afternoon 89,686 families consisting of 312,064 people have been affected. According to the DMC, seven people had died and three others were also missing and floods and landslides affected some areas. Rs. 5.5 Million robbed from private bank

A man stole over Rs 5 Million from a private bank located at Dharmapala Mawatha in Colombo this morning. The police said that the suspect had attacked the security guard at the bank and stole Rs. 5.5 Million and fled.
