Sajith challenges Gotabaya to face-to-face debate

United National Front (UNF) Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa has called on former Defence Secretary and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLP) Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa for a face-to-face live debate.

Parliamentarian Ajith.P. Perera said that the UNF is prepared to sit down with the SLPP and plan the debate.

Perera said that Premadasa has sought the debate with Rajapaksa on the policies of the two candidates.

He said the debate can be arranged as soon as both candidates release their policy statements.

Perera said that the debate can be shown live on all television channels so both candidates will have nothing to hide.

“Do not give false claims and avoid the debate,” Ajith.P. Perera told the Rajapaksa camp.

A similar debate had been arranged earlier with the participation of all main Presidential candidates but Rajapaksa did not attend the debate. (Colombo Gazette)
