Social media presenter claims life under threat after dispute with Iraj

Popular social media presenter Ashen Senarathna claims he has received death threats after a dispute with music producer Iraj Weeraratne escalated.

Addressing reporters today Senarathna?said that Weeraratne had shared his contact details on Facebook and instigated a hate campaign against him.

Senarathna said that Weeraratne had accused him of being part of the election campaign of United National Front Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa.

Weeraratne has said that the young social media presenter best known for his YouTube channel, had obtained huge sums of money from Premadasa to back his campaign.

The social media presenter said the he hopes to file a Police complaint against Iraj Weeraratne and the accusations that he had made as well as the threats to his life.

Asked by journalists why he did not file a compliant with the Police before convening the media conference, Senarathna said that he needed a couple of days as he was in the process of gathering evidence to submit to the Police.

Senarathna said that there is a fear followers of Iraj Weeraratne’s social media networks may get instigated by what he had said through his hate message on social media and harm him. (Colombo Gazette)
