Non-Cabinet Minister Harsha de Silva steps down

Non-Cabinet Minister Harsha de Silva resigned from his Ministerial post today. Harsha de Silva said that he had resigned so President Gotabaya Rajapaksa could appoint a person suitable to the post. In his letter of resignation to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Harsha de Silva said that he gave his best to all portfolios he held and is satisfied that he was able to contribute towards the development of the country.

President Gotabaya assumes duties

Commonwealth concerned over promotion of hate speech

Commonwealth election observers have raised concerns over promotion of hate speech through private media, as well as on social media platforms during the just concluded Presidential election.
