Cabinet holds special meeting to discuss strikes

The Cabinet held a special meeting this evening to discuss the several strikes being staged in the country.

At the meeting it was decided to appoint a 5 member sub-committee to inquire into the strikes and submit proposals to resolve the issues.

State sector employees have been involved in strikes over the past few weeks.

The strikes have affected state transport and other public services.

Disabled soldiers have also been protesting over their pension.
