Sri Lankan man in Kuwait records his suicide live

A Sri Lankan man in Kuwait recorded his suicide live through his mobile phone with his compatriot girlfriend in his flat in Kheitan, Arab Times reported.

A security source said the man had live connection with his girlfriend, who is staying in the same building, through his mobile phone. He stood on a box and tied his neck with a rope saying he would end his life.

After a few minutes, he kicked the box and hanged himself. His girlfriend rushed to his flat and with the help of another Asian, they took him to Farwaniya Hospital but he died.

A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances which prompted the man to commit suicide.

Bloemendhal garbage dump fire extinguished

A fire which broke out at the Bloemendhal garbage dump was extinguished this evening by the fire brigade with the assistance of the Navy. The fire brigade said that six fire engines had been used to extinguish the fire. Separately, the Navy dispatched a fire engine, a water bowser and nine naval personnel. More suspects deported from Dubai

Two more suspects who were arrested at a hotel in Dubai in February with notorious underworld leader Makandure Madush, were deported to Sri Lanka and detained at the Katunayake airport. The suspects were identified as Mohammed Nazim Mohammed Faizer and Mohomed Jabeer Mohomed Mufa. The Police said that the two suspects were detained at the airport last night by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
